Here's a little explosion I did in Max. I am trying to get in as much practice as I can in my spare time. The explosion and fire are done in FumeFX, the boards are rigid bodies, and the debris is pFlow.
This is my CG talk FXWars Challenge entry. Nate did the modeling, textures and lighting. I was responsible for the particles, dynamics, fluids, and composting. We were happy with our final result, but planning and time management is something that we are still working on. Hopefully our next project will be a lot more polished.
Some R&D work done in Maya 2008 at work. Im getting lots of practice with Maya's Dynamics and Mel Scripting.
I would consider this a study of visual effects and animation. All of the visuals were done by me, aside from the "Zapo" character, he was modeled by Nathaniel Dekens Wagenaar. The Audio was done by Chris Helsley. The 3D work was done in 3D Studio Max, I used Afterburn, FumeFX, Particle Flow and some basic MaxScript. The majority of the shots were rendered out into a couple passes and then comped in After Effects.
